I assisted on a redesign of the Moss Rehab website. Moss Rehab, part of the Einstein Healthcare network, is an award-winning Philadelphia area physical rehabilitation hospital that needed a site that conveys its trustworthiness and sense of urgency.
Since traumatic injury is unpredictable, we designed the site through a series of scenarios that looked through the lens of a trauma patient’s caretaker: away from home, stressed, and under pressure to make quick decisions.
The design works to establish trust quickly by showing Moss’ high quality care and attention to detail. It was also important to approach the redesign with device and connection constraints at top of mind. Content was written and structured to show Moss’s expertise, using plain terms anyone can understand.
The main navigation features Moss’ main service areas. If a patient was coming to Moss from out-of-town, the website featured an online concierge to show patient families where they could take care of basic needs not top of mind during a crisis: nearby accommodations, restaurants, cleaners, etc.
Moss Rehab is not just a place for immediate care. Moss serves the needs of individuals at every level of ability and their individual journeys. Advocacy resources are widely available on the site for information such as how to travel or drive with a disability, support groups, and a rich calendar of events in the Moss community.
