A community full of mysteries needs a cryptic logo. I designed this identity for the Eraserhood neighborhood in Philadelphia. The neighborhood's nickname is in reference to David Lynch's film, Eraserhead, with a mysterious storyline inspired by his time spent living in Philadelphia. The symbols inside the mark represent the 3 major borders of the neighborhood (7th, Vine, and Broad streets).
Also included in this exercise is a set of icons that could be used to represent places on a map that explain general happenings in the neighborhood now. I also included a duck, which is both a reference to Lynch's ideas on perfection and a Marx brothers sketch referencing a viaduct.
